HANDS up who’s been thinking that Lupita Nyong’o looks fabulous at the moment?
The Kenyan-Mexican actress has single-handedly been geeing us up for the Black Panther cinema release with a series of red-carpet looks that takes direct inspiration from the Marvel film.
“We’ve had a lot of fun with this tour wardrobe,” Nyong’o’s stylist Micaela Erlanger told Vogue the day after the London premiere. “Though we always have a theme for the work we do together, this time we adopted a really strong warrior mood.”
Cast your eye over last night’s Balmain dress, the Elie Saab two-piece worn in Seoul, or the Atelier Versace gown at the LA premiere, and all the looks have the traits of a serious power wardrobe. “Metallics, strong necklines, shoulder pads and embellished harnesses,” Erlanger explained, “and a dark colour palette that really lent itself to the feeling.”
